Sonde EYEOP1

EyeOP1 therapy probe

EyeOP1 developed by EyeTechCare is the first therapeutic ultrasound instrument equipped with a disposable miniaturised device for the treatment of refractory glaucoma.

The therapy device

The EyeOP1 system also incorporates a sterile disposable therapy device which guarantees treatment under optimum safety conditions.

This consists of 2 parts: a positioning, centring and fixation cone and the therapy probe which generates the ultrasound beam.

Once centred the cone is held onto the eye by suction in order to ensure complete fixation of the device to the eyeball and therefore excellent precision throughout the treatment period.

Positioning the therapy device

The EyeOP1 system disposal device has been designed in order to fix easily to the eyeball.

No instruments are required to separate the eyelids and keep them in place.
The very low weight and small volume of the system make it a very simple and easy to handle system

Therapy

Once the procedure begins, the therapy probe generates  the extremely fine Focused Ultrasound beams which enter easily until they reach their target: the ciliary bodies.  The tissues through which the beams pass remain completely intact and coagulation is only obtained at the focal point.

The focal point is tiny, with a volume of less than 0.3mm3
