On Friday, May 21st, 2010, EyeTechCare was awarded with the first prize of the competition TMI 2010 (Innovative Medical Technologies), during the days of the AGBM (Alliance for the Biological and Medical Engineering), for its innovative device EYEOP1, intended to propose a new type of non invasive treatment of the glaucoma by HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound). The jury consisted of 12 renowned specialists of Medical Devices and the Medical Technology and was chaired by Mister Mathias Fink, professor in the ESPCI ParisTech (ESPCI Paris Institute of Technology), director of the Langevin Institute, member of the Academy of Science and of technological innovation board in the Collège de France. This prize was the opportunityfor Fabrice Romano, CEO of EyeTechCare to thank his partners co-founders Philippe Chapuis and Laurent Farcy, Crealys the incubator Rhône-Alpes, OSEO, the current and future investors, the unit INSERM 556 managed by Jean Yves Chapelon, and Professor Denis, Leader of the service of ophthalmology of Edouard Herriot Hospital in Lyon, the first specialist to treat a patient with the EYEOP1 system.
